Dear Roshan, I hope the answer is in the post itself. Firstly, the dog (stray/pet) cry only because it is lonely. Yes, it is speculated issue that dogs/animals can see the unseen. But you can be sure that nothing bad will happen even if they cry together at night.
Secondly, its a myth created in villages and even to some limit by parents to restrict there children from going out at night hours. Just stay calm and sleep, no harm shall come to you if a dog cries.
Lastly, if you are scared by any means, keep a picture of any god you might trust near you, it might help you. :)
I heard that they can sense spirits and if someone is about to die nearby they cry. I have myself experience these events many times. I don't know if this is really myth or a supernatural ability that dogs have. Also they can hear high pitch sounds and can hear spirits communicating in hyperspace.

Our pup cried a lot initially because it seemed to miss its Mom, brothers and sisters... it'd frequently go back to the blanket that has its Mom's smell and kept scratching @ it out of frustration, it seems... that Mom's smell is there but Mom's not. dogs cry when they get away from their family , in my street a dog is crying for several hours and still crying , her sounds are echoing in whole area , because some bastard took away two little puppy of her.
man is so selfish these days , he did not think what will happen to her when she not find her puppies.

thanks for the information, because at night there are the street dogs that enter our street and start crying but, i thought the reason to why dogs cry at night is because there is going to be a disaster or bad luck for some one. pls tellme a reason to that it worries me a lot.
